    Making Do – Vol. 1: Growing Up Colored in the Jim Crow South During the Great Depression is a YA, faith-based, realistic fiction novel. This coming-of-age story follows Dee Dee and Charles, two people destined to find each other as they navigate through one of the most turbulent periods of the United States, a nation that is post-reconstruction, pre-Civil Rights, and on the brink of World War II.
